Cover Work for 1st March – Mr Haggerty

Hello all,

I’m really sorry I can’t be with you, but I’m still feeling quite ill.  So here’s what you need to do today:

13B Periods 1 and 4

Complete the summary sheet on Biological explanations of Criminality using p90-93 of the text book.
NB The summary sheet box titles need amending based on the textbook headings.

13A Period 2

Complete the summary sheet on using antipsychotics to modify Schizophrenic behaviour – see p126-127

12C Period 3

Cornell notes on the Components of Mindfulness THerapy – textbook p92.

I will be with you as soon as I can, so make sure this is all complete so we can crack on!

Next Monday 6th March I am taking a group of year 10 pupils to Plymouth Aquarium. I would like you to complete the following –

Read through the PowerPoint on Watson & Rayner and watch the following video clip.

Then read the findings of Watson & Rayner from your textbook and complete the handout on findings which was on my previous post. Thanks,

URGENT – Cover work for 12C for Thursday 23 February

Hello all,

Unfortunately I’m not feeling well today, so can’t be with you – hopefully back tomorrow. We’re starting a really interesting new approach.  So, for tomorrow, can you do the following :

  1. Watch the Video in the Powerpoint below.
  2. Using the textbook and the handout below make Cornell notes on the three assumptions of the Positive approach.
  3. Find the two page questionnaire about Signature strengths on my desk and complete it.

Year 13 PPE Revision advice

Hello all

This is what you can expect to be tested on in the PPE:

Component 1

  1. Assumptions of the Biological, Cognitive and Positive  Approaches
  2. The whole of the Biological and Psychodynamic Topics.

Component 2

  1. You should be able to describe and evaluate all the research methods we have studied so far.
  2. You should be able to apply your knowledge and understanding of these methods to a novel (new) scenario.
  3. You should be able to describe ethical issues and how to deal with them
  4. You should be able to explain issues around Validity and Reliability.
  5. You should be ready to answer questions on your “Age and reaction time ” study”

Component 3

  1. All the topics in the Stress section
  2.  All the topics in the Schizophrenia section.

Revise carefully, test yourself for 20 minutes in each hour of study, then review and improve your answers. Memorise as much as you can and get friends and family to test you.

Make sure you have a day off over the holiday.
